VENeffect Anti-Aging Skincare

Hello All!  I'm Elvira from The Pink Sith Blog and for those that don't know me I'm a bit of a joker when it comes to certain reviews, but one thing I never kid about is skin care. I honestly believe that there is no foundation in the world that will make you look good if your canvas (your face) is not up to par. That's why I am serious about skin care and why I have done a lot of research into what is worth it and what isn't in the vast anti-aging skincare market.

I recently had the pleasure of sitting down with the founders of the brand VENeffect, a Anti-Aging Skin Care line that was the result of two sisters whose combined experience made for the perfect combination. Sisters Cecil  and Dr. Rebecca Booth used their understanding of hormones and how they can contribute to the state of your skin along with seven years of research and development to create the breakthrough skin care line VENeffect. Addressing the signs of hormonal aging, the mission of the brand is to educated women about the beauty of their hormones and provide solutions to help them live in better in that knowledge. Exclusive to Neiman Marcus VENeffect is an Anti-Aging Skin Care line developed by women, for women.  Cecil Booth and Dr. Rebecca Booth developed VENeffect based on the phenomenon the sisters call the “Venus Effect”.  It's also a book written by Dr. Booth. The idea behind it is that the glow of healthy, young skin is from increased estrogen.  Haven’t you heard of that "glow" people talk about when a woman is pregnant?  Well that's from increased estrogen in a woman's system. The Venus Effect became the inspiration for their line VENeffect.  The sisters collaborated on this line because, as women, they found that there were no suitable solutions to one of the most compelling ways in which we age. “There is an undeniable and well documented link between estrogen and collagen. As the influence of estrogen wanes from its peak in our twenties, it causes collagen to decline, resulting in a loss of elasticity and increase in fine lines and wrinkles in our skin,” says Dr. Booth.

The Sisters discovered their solution in the plant world. Phytoestrogens. This is where VENeffect products get 100% of its potency from.  Phytoestrogens mimic human estrogen and can safely and effectively bind to the receptors in facial skin. These plant based wonders have been shown to preserve and restore collagen, which dramatically increases elasticity and helps in reversing the signs of aging. Unlike other anti-aging products that are designed to exfoliate dead skin, VENeffect uses phytoestrogen technology to stimulate collagen production, replenishing what we lose naturally and from some exfoliating anti-aging products.  The end result is an improved vital glow of healthy skin.

In developing the line, The Booth sisters were committed to not just finding the right technology, but ensuring there were significant levels of these potent ingredients to make a dramatic improvement to skin. VENeffect products are formulated with high concentrations of pure phytoestrogens that are unique to the line. In addition to their anti-aging properties, VENeffect phytoestrogens provide additional benefits:

The founders of VENeffect wanted to make sure that they weren't just putting token amounts of these effective ingredients in their products. That's why, when you look at the list of ingredients, for any of their products, you will see those phytoestrogens very high up on the list. The higher up in the list of ingredients the more there is in the product. What makes these products even more appealing is the fact that they are all developed to be hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic, and paraben free.  One of the things I was impressed with was the lack of fragrances in their products. It seems like every product was created with such care and detail so as to make sure that every product they offer is not loaded down with unnecessary chemicals that could damage or inflame your skin.

The line is very small. They felt it better to come out with key items that could be easily incorporated into your existing skin care routine or be used as your sole skin care regimen.  VENeffect currently offers 4 products.

VENeffect Anti-Aging Intensive Moisturizer: $185 (1.7oz/50ml)

This is a super hydrating moisturizer formulated with proprietary advanced phytoestrogen technology.  This along with peptides, proteins and nourishing ingredients has been shown to dramatically increase skin’s elasticity as it helps reverse the signs of hormonal aging.

 VENeffect Anti-Aging Moisturizer SPF 15:$145 (1.7oz/50ml)

This is a very lightweight daily that not only enhances collagen production, and there by dramatically improves the skin’s elasticity; it also contains a broad spectrum SPF 15 to protect from sun damage.  This "day cream” contains a chemical sunscreen (versus a physical one which can clog pores in some skin types) and it is photo stable so it won't break down it's SPF coverage as the day goes on. Also, because it does not use Physical sun blockers this daily moisturizer won't leave a white cast to your skin.

 VENeffect Anti-Aging Eye Treatment: $125 (.5oz/15ml)

This is a gentle eye treatment with the advanced phytoestrogen technology in the VENeffect Anti-Aging intensive moisturizer.  Formulated for the very delicate eye area, this eye cream is supposed to improve elasticity and skin tone around the delicate eye area, and thereby reduce the appearance of fine lines and crow’s feet.  While indulgent and moisturizing, this eye cream can be used during the day with no adverse impact on your eye makeup

 VENeffect Anti-Aging Lip Treatment: $85 (.34oz/10ml)

This is a powerful lip treatment, with proprietary advanced phytoestrogen technology, that visibly reduces the appearance of vertical lines around the lips.  Its deeply hydrating and

protective formula smoothes softens and plumps, revealing a youthful rosy glow. It is not fragranced, but it is flavored with citrus oils and it feels amazing on your lips!

VENeffect will come out with 2 new products in November/December of this year.  They are the much anticipated Serum an ultra infused phytoestrogen serum to work beyond the dermis and epidermis to encourage collagen growth. And a Neck and Décolletage Cream that has been carefully crafted not to inflame the easily reactive neck area but is also thick enough to properly moisturize and diminish those horizontal lines in that area.

I was hesitant to look into this line, I thought this was for pre and post menopausal women, but looking at the data and the products that are offered, and I can see how this line is for almost any woman past the age of 25!  It's never too early to start protecting your skin from aging, and with the right botanicals and other ingredients you can stave off the aging process for years.  I am now a believer in VENeffect and while it might be more expensive than your typical drugstore brand or other higher end brand of skin care, I challenge anyone to find a product that is equal to the potency and quality I have found in the VENeffect products offered.  What's best is that with the way the line has been created one can pick and choose which products to add to their routine.  I'm particularly interested in the Serum coming out this month or next. I really feel that will be an excellent addition to my current anti-aging skin care regimen.
