Nailed::Creeping Cat Halloween Nail Art Tutorial

Sunday, October 28, 2012

Good morning-almost noon lovelies!

I'm back for my second monthly guest post for Creatively Yours. Of course, with Halloween a few days away, I had to post a Halloween manicure! Halloween is possibly the only holiday where you can be as creative as you want and won't get looked at weird for it. Is it not so exciting to see all the makeup, nail designs, and even hair people come up with?

Well today I'll be showing you how to create this simple--but cute--design for Halloween! It may take some patience but I promise it is doable.

The colors I used are Wet N Wild Club Havana (orange), Wet N Wild Black Creme (black), and Barielle Soul-er Powered (yellow). The stripes on the index, middle, and pinky were made using a nail art brush and a steady hand. You could also use tape. For the accent fingers follow the steps below...

Step 1: Draw a semi-circle on the top left corner of your nail, this is your moon.
Step 2: Draw bats over your moon, they do not have to be perfect, just have fun!
Step 3: Start drawing the cat's head by making an oval shape then adding small triangle ears.
Step 4: Draw the cat's torso as if it were a large oval, only the end is a straight edge.
Step 5: Add whiskers to your cat, you want to use a light hand to make these thin lines.
Step 6: Draw a tail to the bottom of the cat's torso.
Step 7: To mimic the motion of a cat's wagging tail, draw two lines above the tail, they should look similar to "quotation marks".

Make sure to add a top coat to seal in your design and you're done! That wasn't too bad was it?

Thanks for reading!
