New York Fashion Week: Day 3

Tuesday, September 11, 2012

Were almost at the half way point, here is what we covered on day three.

After taking a trip downtown we arrived at Pier 59 for the A Detacher New York Fashion Week Show for the A Detacher Show. Mona Kowalska collection was full of dresses with gathered knots and spring knits. An orange gathered knot dress opened the collection royal blue one shoulder knee length dress gave the pow factor that was needed before moving in more black and white.

We rushed back to the tents to experience designer Zang Toi's romantic french riviera inspired spring 2013 collection. Zang Toi wowed the crowd with a ivory silk dupioni trouser with velvet suspenders for a man, yes Zang Toi may have expanded his brand to menswear. Black and ivory cocktail dresses, trousers suits looks kicked off the show and stunning  ice pink and lilac gowns encrusted with ice crystals closed the show.

One of our favorite shows of the season happened right after Zang Toi, Emerson by Jackie Fraser- Swan. The collection screamed Nylon Magazine cover to us. A 1970's horror film inspiration rocked our sock, sleeveless peplum tops, this black and white Emerson Varsity Jacket and jersey tanks were all featured here. We loved the blend of femininity and very hard punk rock edginess that this collection gave us.
